Plumbing help for Marina homes and businesses
Pick the group that sounds closest to your problem. Each one opens a full guide with symptoms, repair options and what you can safely do before a plumber arrives.
Burst pipes and active leaks
Water coming through a ceiling, a split supply line or a spraying fitting needs the main valve closed first and a plumber second. We handle burst pipe repair, water service line repair and hidden leaks that show up as wet walls or a spinning meter.

Drains, sewers and backups
Slow sinks, gurgling toilets and floor drains that bubble all point to a blockage somewhere down the line. Options run from drain cleaning to hydro jetting, with camera inspection to see what the pipe really looks like.

Water heaters
No hot water, a pooling tank or a pilot that will not stay lit. We look at repair first, explain when replacement makes more sense, and cover tank and tankless installs.

Leak detection and slab leaks
A high water bill, warm spots on the floor or the sound of running water when everything is off usually means a hidden leak. Detection comes before any cutting so the repair stays small.

Toilets, faucets and disposals
Running toilets, dripping faucets and jammed disposals are small jobs that turn into water damage when ignored. Most are same-day work when a plumber is free.

Commercial plumbing
Restaurants, shops and offices cannot close for a plugged line. We take calls for grease-related backups, restroom failures and water loss at light industrial and retail sites.

What you get when you call
Licensed and insured
We send licensed and insured plumbers, and we explain how to check any California plumber's license on the state board's site before you hire.
A clear price first
You hear the price before work starts. If the scope changes once a pipe is opened up, you hear that before anything else is done.
Same-day when possible
We offer same-day appointments when available, and the line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, holidays included.
Honest options
Many problems have a cheap fix and a lasting fix. We lay out both, with the trade-offs, and you decide.
The first ten minutes of a plumbing emergency
What you do before a plumber arrives often decides how much damage there is. Most of it takes a minute and no tools. Learn where your shutoffs are now, while nothing is wrong.
- Close the main water valve, usually near the meter, where the line enters the house, or by the water heater.
- Stop using sinks, tubs, showers and toilets if a drain is backing up.
- Switch off the water heater if the tank is leaking, and keep people away from wet outlets and appliances.
- Move rugs, boxes and electronics off the floor. Take photos of damage for your records.
- Call (855) 575-2890 and tell us what you see, hear and smell.
Gas smell: leave first
If you smell natural gas, do not look for the source. Leave the building, call 911 from a safe distance, then call the gas utility. For PG&E that number is 1-800-743-5000. A plumbing call comes after that.
Marina places and what they mean for your pipes
Marina sits on the Monterey Bay shoreline, and the ground under it is mostly sand. A state environmental report describes the area's dunes as unconsolidated, highly erodible sand. Sandy soil drains well, but it can also shift around buried lines, so we look closely at older yard and sewer runs.
Marina State Beach is at the end of Reservation Road, and a day there often ends with sandy gear at an outdoor spigot or shower drain. Sand and grit can wear hose bibs and collect in traps, so a slow outdoor drain is worth a look before it backs up.
Marina Dunes Preserve and Fort Ord Dunes State Park frame the north and south edges of town. A home on a sandy lot near open dunes can hide trouble, because an exterior water leak can disappear into the ground without showing at the surface. A meter that keeps turning after you shut everything off is the clue.
Locke-Paddon Wetland Community Park sits just off Reservation Road next to the Marina Library at 190 Seaside Circle. Homes near low, damp ground like this are better off with a working cleanout on your sewer line, so a backup can be cleared without digging.
CSUMB has a physical campus address of 5108 Fourth Ave in Marina, though its mailing address uses Seaside. Shared rentals with many people on one set of fixtures are where toilet clogs and disposal jams tend to start. Landlords and tenants can both call us for those.
Preston Park was built in 1989 for military families and is near Reservation Road and Imjin Road. Housing from that era can have aging supply lines and original water heaters, so a leak or a tank at the end of its life is a fair thing to expect there.
Reservation Road, Del Monte Boulevard and Highway 1 are how most calls reach us. Del Monte Boulevard is the main commercial strip through central Marina, so restaurants and shops along it are the usual source of grease clogs and restroom backups.
We also take calls from the former Fort Ord area, and from nearby Sand City, Del Rey Oaks and Monterey, and from north county communities such as Prunedale. Neighbors have their own pages: see our Seaside plumber page and our Castroville plumber page.
Marina water: hard enough to notice
Marina Coast Water District pumps groundwater from wells in the Salinas Valley basin and treats it with chlorine. Its 2025 report lists average hardness at 10.54 grains per gallon, with readings up to about 19. That is moderately hard to hard water.
Hard water leaves scale inside water heaters and on faucet screens. The district itself suggests flushing your water heater on the manufacturer's schedule. If scale has already built up, a water heater repair visit may be enough, or a water softener and filtration setup may be the longer-term answer.
| Problem | Usually the district's side | Usually the owner's side |
|---|---|---|
| Meter and meter box | District maintains | Keep the area clear and accessible |
| Pipe from the meter into your property | Ends at the service connection | You maintain it, and a plumber repairs it |
| Leaks inside the house | Not covered | Repair promptly. The district sets a 72 hour repair rule for leaks |
| Side sewer (lateral) from house to main | Not covered | The property owner maintains it |
For a main break in the street or a sewer problem in the public line, the district's 24-hour line is (831) 883-5900. If the trouble is on your side, call us and we will help sort it out.
